Ergens naar uitkijken...

Ik heb alleen

dat wat ik weggeef

ik kan alleen worden
wat ik nog niet ben

en wat ik al ben
hoef ik niet meer te worden

Wat ik van jou meen te weten,

houdt me tegen

The family.

We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.

The Tibetan mystic, Tertön Sogyal,
said that he was not really impressed
by someone who could turn the floor into the ceiling or fire into water.

A real miracle, he said,
was if someone could liberate just one negative emotion.

We denken dat we kunnen vasthouden,
als we maar genoeg ons best doen
en er hard genoeg bij nadenken ...

Rommelkamer

TODAY

Today is the greatest
Day I've ever known
Can't live for tomorrow,
Tomorrow's much too long
I'll burn my eyes out
Before I get out

I wanted more
Than life could ever grant me
Bored by the chore
Of saving face

Today is the greatest
Day I've never known
Can't wait for tomorrow
I might not have that long
I'll tear my heart out
Before I get out

Pink ribbon scars
That never forget
I tried so hard
To cleanse these regrets
My angel wings
Were bruised and restrained
My belly stings

Today is
Today is
Today is
The greatest day

I want to turn you on
I want to turn you around
I want to turn you on
I want to turn you

Today is the greatest
Today is the greatest day
Today is the greatest day
That I have ever really known

There are two ways to be rich:
One is by acquiring much,
and the other is by desiring little

The mind is beautiful
because of the paradox.

It uses itself
to understand itself.

Alert, alert;

yet relax, relax.

Alert your alertness,
but at the same time be relaxed,
so relaxed
that you don’t even hold onto an idea of relaxation.

Is it possible for the rose to say, “I will give my fragrance to the good people who smell me, but I will withhold it from the bad”? Or is it possible for the lamp to say, “I will give my light to the good people in this room, but I will withhold it from the evil people”? Or can a tree say, “I’ll give my shade to the good people who rest under me, but I will withhold it from the bad”? These are images of what love is about.”

Dr Geoff Warburton

The teacher teaches by presence.
The language of presence is more powerful than all the verbalizations
from all the languages from the world put together.
It is the eloquence of existence.

If you allow life to become your teacher, it teaches.

But if you turn to books and want to know whether it be duality or non-duality, one god or many, one creator, or two, etc., if you turn to books and theories, if you want to dig into the past and base your perception on that, then the opportunity to live first hand would be missed.

'Zachtheid overwint hardheid,

Today I bent the truth to be kind,
and I have no regret,
for I am far surer of what is kind
than I am of what is true.

- Robert Brault -

I am only one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
And I will not let what I cannot do
interfere with what I can do.

Most people think happiness is about gaining something,

It’s all about getting rid of the darkness

To work with changes now, in life: That is the real way to prepare for death. Life may be full of pain, suffering, and difficulty, but all of these are opportunities handed to us to help us move toward an emotional acceptance of death. It is only when we believe things to be permanent that we shut off the possibility of learning from change.
