Where [do I go from here]?
I asked myself that question when I was twenty,
again when I was thirty,
again when I was forty, fifty …
I could never answer it.
Now I know something: I have to persist.
That means live, write, and face,
like everyone else,
the other side of every life
- the unknown.
- Octavio Paz -

Where is there a place for you to be? No place.
Nothing outside you can give you any place.
In yourself right now is all the place you’ve got.
You needn’t look at the sky because
it’s not going to open up and show no place behind it.
You can’t go neither forwards nor backwards
into your daddy’s time nor your children’s if you have them.
In yourself right now is all the place you’ve got.
If there was any Fall, look there,
if there was any Redemption, look there,
and if you expect any Judgment, look there,
because they all three will have to be in your time
and your body and where in your time and your body can they be?

You can’t go on like you’re going to start really living one day, like all this is some preamble to some great life that’s going to magically appear.
I’m a firm believer that you have to create your own miracles. Don’t hold out that there’s something better waiting on the other side. It doesn’t work that way.
The hunger to belong is not merely a desire to be attached to something. It is rather sensing that great transformation and discovery become possible when belonging is sheltered and true.
John O Donohue
Not just the body but all natural
things,
when left undisturbed,
move naturally toward beauty and wholeness.
If you don’t keep repaving it every few years,
an ugly parking lot will crack, grass will come up,
and after 100 years or so you’ll probably have a beautiful forest.
Your body is the same way.
Stop “paving it over” with artificial ways of being,
stop trying to be other than what you are,
and it will move towards its natural state of health and beauty.
It happens sooner than you think.
Why else is rest so healing?
Have you ever noticed how beautiful a sleeping person looks?

Everyone underestimates their own life.
Funny thing is, in the end, all
our stories…
they’re the same.
In fact, no matter where you go in the
world,
there is only one important story:
of youth, loss and yearning
for redemption.
So we tell the same story, over and over.
Only the
details are different.

When you get out of the driver’s seat,
you find that life can drive itself,
that actually life has always been
driving itself.
When you get out of the driver’s seat,
it can drive
itself so much easier —
it can flow in ways you never imagined.
Life
becomes almost magical.
The illusion of the “me” is no longer in the
way.
Life begins to flow,
and you never know where it will take you.
- Adyashanti -
Refuse to fall down.
If you cannot refuse to fall down, refuse to stay down, lift your heart toward heaven like a hungry beggar, ask that it be filled and it will be filled.
You may be pushed down. You may be kept from rising. But no one can keep you from lifting your heart toward heaven-only you.
It is in the middle of misery that so much becomes clear.
The one who says nothing good came of this is not yet listening.

Perhaps the biggest tragedy of our lives is that freedom is possible, yet we can pass our years trapped in the same old patterns...
We may want to love other people without holding back, to feel authentic, to breathe in the beauty around us, to dance and sing.
Yet each day we listen to inner voices that keep our life small.
