I was taught something important about expectations by an elder.
He told me that I should give no energy to expectation - that my job in this world is to live simply in Love in the best way I can and to allow others to live in their own way.
“Your job is to cast the stone into the water. You are not in charge of how many ripples form, or how big the ripples in the water are after casting the stone.”
He spoke about how expectations are what lead us into despair as well as into a feeling of doubt, failure and judgement of others.
It is so important to remember that we can only speak and act from our soul’s deepest urgings, towards the highest good.
Whether we are loved or hated, whether our efforts come to succes or failure, we can do our best to free ourselves from attachment and expectation.
When you free yourself of expectations, of how things are supposed to be and how they are meant to turn out, you free yourself to be fully alive in each moment.- Little Grandmother Kiesha -

solid citizen, a wholesome, upstanding man. You want to get drunk, so
you have to accept the hangover.

Neem niets persoonlijk.
Niets van wat anderen doen is omwille van jou.
Wat ze zeggen en doen
is een projectie van hun eigen werkelijkheid, hun eigen droom.
Wanneer je immuun wordt voor de opinies en daden van anderen
dan hoef je niet langer het slachtoffer te zijn van nodeloos lijden.
