Your Life is Your life: Go all the way - Charles Bukowski

When another person makes you suffer,
it is because he suffers deeply within himself,
and his suffering is spilling over.
He does not need punishment; he needs help.
That’s the message he is sending.

- Thich Nhat Hanh -

To me,
 the main thing
 about living on this planet
 is to know
 who the hell you are
and to be real about it.
 That’s the reason
 I’m still alive.

Until we have met the monsters in ourselves,

we keep trying to slay them in the outer world.

And we find that we cannot.

For all darkness in the world

stems from darkness in the heart.

And it is there that we must do our work.

- Marianne Williamson -

- Deepak Chopra - Debbie Ford - Marianne Williamson -

The best spiritual instruction
is when you wake up in the morning and say,
‘I wonder what’s going to happen today.’
And then carry that kind of curiosity
 through your life.

Wayne Dyer once said,

“How people treat you is their karma.

 How you react is yours.”

- Spencer Reid -

If you can approach the world’s complexities,
both its glories and its horrors,
with an attitude of humble curiosity,
acknowledging that however deeply you have seen,
you have only scratched the surface,
you will find worlds within worlds,
beauties you could not heretofore imagine,
and your own mundane preoccupations
 will shrink to proper size,
 not all that important
in the greater scheme of things.

- Daniel C. Dennett -

Some people are called to be a good sailor.
Some people have a calling to be a good tiller of the land.
Some people are called to be a good friend.

You have to be the best at whatever you are called at.
 Whatever you do.
You ought to be the best at it, highly skilled.
 It’s about confidence, not arrogance.

You have to know that you’re the best
whether anybody else tells you or not.
And that you’ll be around,
in one way or another,
longer than anybody else.
 Somewhere inside of you,
 you have to believe that.

Don’t Take Anything Personally.

Nothing others do is because of you.

What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.

When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

- Don Miguel Ruiz -

I stopped telling myself that I’m lost.
I’m not.

I’m on a road with no destination, I’m just driving with hope that I’ll find a place that I like and I’ll stay there.

I’m not lost, I’m on my way.

Anger is good... Anger, you see, is to people what fuel is to an automobile. Without it, we would not be motivated to rise to any challenge, and life would be no more than mere existence. Anger is an energy that compels us to define what is right and wrong, good and bad, just and unjust.

Anger is also like electricity. Electricity is powerful-- so powerful, in fact, that it can cause devastating destruction if it is mishandled or abused. But if channeled properly and intelligently, it is highly useful to mankind.

Vergeven

is de hoop opgeven

om het verleden te veranderen.

- auteur onbekend -

Isn't it wonderful to be alive?

You know, you can forget all about it.

Then suddenly you remember, and think of all the things you can do.

Here I am. I can walk around. I can talk.

I can see things and remember things.

I am alive. How wonderful.

I WANT YOUR ANGER. I WANT YOUR FIRE.
“Don’t be spiritual with me, my love.
Be honest instead!
Get angry with me. Tell me how you really feel.
Tell me how pissed off you are.
Shout. Or cry. Show me your vulnerability.
Express what’s on your heart.
Say the wrong thing. Make a mess.
I don’t care. We can clean up later.
I just want to meet you. Now.
Don’t wait until you have the perfect words.
Don’t wait until your precious fire has gone out.
Or your tears have dried up.
There’s no shame in being a mess.
Anger is not ‘unspiritual’.
It is beauty. It is power.
I want to meet you beyond the mask.
Beyond the nice little boy, the good little girl.
The well-trained spiritual student.
The expert. The calm one.
The one who was never allowed to raise their voice.
I want to feel your fucking flames!
I want to feel your truth!
Your passion! What you need! What you desire!
Your unrequited longings! Your frustrated hopes!
Don’t worry about hurting me.
Just let life speak through you. Now.
I will take responsibility for my own pain.
Please. I’d rather receive your pure anger NOW
than years of stories, blame, resentment,
and passive aggressiveness.
Drop the spiritual bullshit.
Just tell me how I fucked up.
Get everything out in the open.
I will not shame you.
And we can go from there.”

Don’t compare yourself to others.

Really, just don’t do it.

Comparison can tear one completely apart on the inside; bit by bit, piece by piece, one’s whole self acceptance may crumble.

You must only focus on your own journey and where it is that you yourself are headed.

All stress begins with a negative thought. One thought that went unchecked, and then more thoughts came and more, until stress manifested. The effect is stress, but the cause was negative thinking, and it all began with one little negative thought.

No matter what you might have manifested, you can change it ....with one small positive thought and then another.

The goal is not cessation of thought.

The goal is cessation of identification with thought.
