Because if life and death are pointless, the only thing that matters is what you say.
You get to ascribe whatever meaning you want to life and what's important to you, and nothing short of losing your freedom of movement can stop you.
Thus, the inherent meaningless of existence means your life can be as meaningful or meaningless as you please.
Live the life you’d be envious of if you saw someone else living it.
This is my personal mantra.
Whenever I’m going through a difficult time,
like a breakup, and I’m wishing to be the person who could get over it
and move on, I tell myself to be that person.
Instead of waiting to be
inspired by someone else and being jealous that they’re living a life I
wish I had, I tell myself not to wait for that moment and to start being
the person I want to be.
If you wish you were the woman who went for
that big promotion, learned a second language, dumped that guy who
cheated on you, then just be that person.
Think, if I have the energy to
wish for it, I have the energy to do it.

GOED
Als ik je vraag
"Hoe gaat het?"
Geef mij dan naast jouw "Goed"
Je twijfels
Je hartzeer
Je angst
En je tegenspoed
Geef mij naast jouw "Uitstekend"
Je tranen
En je pijn
Als ik vraag
"Hoe gaat het?"
Hoef je niet sterk te zijn
Toon me juist je kwetsbaarheid
En zeg me wat er speelt
Want "Goed" voelt vaak beter
Als je ook je zorgen deelt!

Water does not resist.
Water flows.
When you plunge your hand into it,
all you feel is a caress.
Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop
you.
But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end
can stand against it.
Water is patient.
Dripping water wears away a
stone.
Remember that, my child.
Remember you are half water.
If you
can’t go through an obstacle, go around it.
Water does.

Lost opportunities, lost possibilities, feelings we can never get back.
That’s part of what it means to be alive.
But inside our heads – at
least that’s where I imagine it – there’s a little room where we store
those memories.
A room like the stacks in this library.
And to
understand the workings of our own heart we have to keep on making new
reference cards.
We have to dust things off every once in awhile, let in
fresh air, change the water in the flower vases.
In other words, you’ll
live forever in your own private library.

Blake, ‘zou hun licht onmiddellijk doven.’
Zonder de houdgreep van de
twijfel zijn de dingen die je doet goed noch slecht, en dus volmaakt, en
ben je in staat tot het onmogelijke; kun je zomaar alle thee van de
wereld uit één klein kopje drinken.
- Pablo Picasso -Everyone wants to understand art. Why not try to understand the song of a bird? Why does one love the night, flowers, everything around one, without trying to understand them? …If only they would realize above all that an artist works of necessity, that he himself is only a trifling bit of the world, and that no more importance should be attached to him than to plenty of other things which please us in the world, though we can’t explain them. People who try to explain pictures are usually barking up the wrong tree.

We
are our thoughts; but we are at the same time much more than just our
thoughts.
We are also our feelings, our perceptions, our wisdom, our
happiness, and our love.
When we know we are more than our thoughts, we
can make the determination not to allow our thinking to take over and
dominate us.

A student went to his meditation teacher- Zen Story -
and said, “My meditation is horrible! I feel so distracted,
or my legs ache, or I’m constantly falling asleep.
It’s just horrible!”
“It will pass,” the teacher said matter-of-factly…
A week later, the student came back to his teacher.
“My meditation is wonderful! I feel so aware,
so peaceful, so alive!.. It’s just wonderful!“
“It will pass,” the teacher replied matter-of-factly…
I have this theory about words.
There's a
thousand ways to say 'Pass the salt.'
It could mean...
'Can I have some
salt?'
Or it could mean, 'I love you.'
It could mean, 'I'm very annoyed
with you.'
Really, the list could go on and on.
Words are little bombs,
and they have a lot of energy inside them.

Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the
universe, a moment that will never be again.
And what do we teach our
children?
We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is
the capital of France.
When will we also teach them what they are?
We
should say to each of them: Do you know what you are?
You are a marvel.
You are unique.
In all the years that have passed, there has never been
another child like you.
Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the
way you move.
You may become a Shakespeare, a Michaelangelo, a
Beethoven.
You have the capacity for anything.
Yes, you are a marvel.
