 You cannot escape your feelings

Or your emotions

Even as you deny and turn away

There they are, rising in the shadows

Influencing in hidden ways

Trying to get attention

The only way is to meet them

And open so wide they all

Get to come home.

 DAGGEDICHT – Jon Fosse (1959) –

in zichzelf
en houdt zijn adem in

terwijl wind en water
strelen en slaan
houdt de berg zijn adem in

***

Fjellet held anden

anden vart trekt djupt
og så stod fjellet der
så stod fjella der
og slik står fjella der

og lutar seg nedover
og nedover
i seg sjølv
og held anden

medan himmel og hav
stryk og slår
held fjellet anden

Born in Haugesund, Norway September 29, 1959

“...because if there was one thing he didn't like it was big words, they just lied and covered things up, those big words, they didn't let what really was live and breathe but just carried it off into something that wanted to be big, that's what he thought...”

"This is not your responsibility but it is your problem.”

That’s the advice Cheryl Strayed gave to someone who was upset because something unfair had been done to them.

Her advice may be harsh, but it’s true.

Life is unfair.

Just because you should not have to deal with something doesn’t change whether you in fact need to.

I remember when I was learning to drive my parents warned me: It doesn’t matter that you have the right of way if you end up dying in an accident.

Life has a way of dropping things into our lap—the consequences of an employee’s negligence, a spouse’s momentary lapse of judgment, a freak weather event.

These things are in no way our fault but by nature of being in our lap, our problem.

So what are you going to do?

 Complain?

Or are you just going to get to work solving it the best you can?

Your life is defined by how you answer that question.

Prachtig boek !

I can't explain why I think I can get there, when all the odds are against me. But I do. Even when a big part of me is saying I should give up, I can't. Even when I don't want to keep going, I still do it.

You have to believe. That's what I think. It's not about medicine and all that stuff. You have to believe a person can get better. There is so much in the human mind we don't understand.

1. See obstacles as opportunities.

2. Have low expectations.

 3. Every moment as an opportunity to grow.

5. Use your success to help others succeed.

 6. Doing the right thing is always the right thing to do.

7. You will die, soon.

 Stoic Mindset:

 Strength is mastering oneself

Unruffled by Storms

 In control of Passions

Focusing on what is in your control

and letting go of what is not

Take time to get to know yourself

Know what you stand for

 Reflect

Be who you want to be

As Marcus Aurelius said

"Waste no more time arguing what a good man is.

Be One."

This is the path to inner peace.
