Well, what are you?…
What are you conscious of in yourself?
Your kidneys? Your liver? Your blood vessels? No.
However far back you go in your memory, it is always in some external, active manifestation of yourself that you come across your identity…in the work of your hands, in your family, in other people.
And now listen carefully.
You in others…this is your soul.
This is what you are.
This is what your consciousness has breathed and lived on and enjoyed throughout your life…your soul, your immortality, your life in others.
And what now?
You have always been in others and you will remain in others.
And what does it matter to you if later on that is called your memory?
This will be you…
the you that enters the future and becomes part of it.

I’m not saying this is easy. It takes conscious work, practice, and patience. But we have WAY more power than we know. We make thousands of choices in a day, most that we are unaware of because they are deep in the subconscious. But bring them to the surface and make them conscious, and you will see how many choices you really have. LET US CHOOSE LOVE over and over. And let us be patient with ourselves on this journey ❤️

I’ll
find myself outside looking at and appreciating a beautiful sunset with
birds flying by and the the cacti blooming their beautiful flowers, and
I’ll think “I wish I was just a bit happier” and instantly I am
separated from what is. Or I’ll be feeling confused and lost and just
wishing I wasn’t confused and lost. And that just causes even more
internal conflict.
I’m learning to just be with what is. Exactly how it is. Not my idea of how it should look. No expectations or judgments. Just being. Even if this moment feels hard. Because this moment is a miracle. This moment is more magical than anything my mind could imagine it to be or any desire I may have.

I have learned that if you must leave a place that you have lived in and loved and where all your yesteryears are buried deep, leave it any way except a slow way, leave it the fastest way you can.
Never turn back and never believe that an hour you remember is a better hour because it is dead.
Passed years seem safe ones, vanquished ones, while the future lives in a cloud, formidable from a distance.
The cloud clears as you enter it.
I have learned this, but like everyone, I learned it late.

It’s too damn difficult.
What happens is most people get older.
That’s the truth of it.
They honor their credit cards, they find parking spaces, they marry, they have the nerve to have children, but they don’t grow up.
Not really.
They get older.
But to grow up costs the earth, the earth.
It means you take responsibility for the time you take up, for the space you occupy.
It’s serious business.
And you find out what it costs us to love and to lose, to dare and to fail.
And maybe even more, to succeed.
What it costs, in truth.
Not superficial costs, anybody can have that, I mean in truth.

The chief beauty about time
is that you cannot waste it in advance.
The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you,
as perfect, as unspoiled,
as if you had never wasted or misapplied
a single moment in all your life.
You can turn over a new leaf every hour
if you choose.

There are always new sounds to imagine; new feelings to get at.
And always, there is the need to keep purifying these feelings and sounds so that we can really see what we've discovered in its pure state.
So that we can see more and more clearly what we are.
In that way, we can give to those who listen the essence, the best of what we are.
But to do that at each stage, we have to keep on cleaning the mirror.
