When we look at the mind, it’s compared to somebody sitting on the banks of the river, watching the river go by, because we’re not swept away by the river.

Usually, when we think we are swept away, like we’re in the middle of the river and we’re just carried along with it.

Where the thoughts want to go, that’s where we go.

This is how it feels.

So here, we are a little bit trying to stand back, sit back, and just see the flow of the thoughts.

And then just capture some thoughts and question them to death.

And then let it go again.

DAGGEDICHT – Wim Brands (1959-2016) - De jas

'Nergens heen.'
'Dan gaan we dezelfde kant op.'

Never take what others think or say about you personally.

How they respond is never about you and always a perception they have from within them.

This is your precious life don’t let the opinions of others dictate how you will live it.

Keep doing what you’re doing with integrity and love.

Social media gives legions of idiots the right to speak

when they once only spoke at a bar after a glass of wine,

 without harming the community ...

but now they have the same right to speak as

 a Nobel Prize winner.

It's the invasion of the idiots.

you do something and the little voice inside says,

'There. That’s it. That’s why you’re here.' …

 Hokusai says look carefully.
He says pay attention, notice.
He says keep looking, stay curious.
He says there is no end to seeing.

He says look forward to getting old.
He says keep changing,
you just get more who you really are.
He says get stuck, accept it, repeat
yourself as long as it is interesting.

He says keep doing what you love.

He says keep praying.

He says everyone of us is a child,
everyone of us is ancient,
everyone of us has a body.
He says everyone of us is frightened.
He says everyone of us has to find
a way to live with fear.

He says everything is alive–
shells, buildings, people, fish,
mountains, trees, wood is alive.
Water is alive.

Everything has its own life.

Everything lives inside us.

He says live with the world inside you.

He says it doesn’t matter if you draw,
or write books. It doesn’t matter
if you saw wood, or catch fish.
It doesn’t matter if you sit at home
and stare at the ants on your veranda
or the shadows of the trees
and grasses in your garden.
It matters that you care.

It matters that you feel.

It matters that you notice.

It matters that life lives through you.

Contentment is life living through you.
Joy is life living through you.
Satisfaction and strength
is life living through you.

Peace is life living through you.

He says don’t be afraid.
Don’t be afraid.

Look, feel, let life take you by the hand.

Let life live through you.

R.I.P. TINA TURNER

 At every moment,

we always have a choice,

even if it feels as if we don’t.

Sometimes that choice may simply be

to think a more positive thought.

Go out for a walk.

It doesn't have to be a romantic walk in the park...

It doesn't have to be a walk during which you'll have multiple life epiphanies and discover meanings no other brain ever managed to encounter.

Do not be afraid of spending quality time by yourself...

That doesn't make you antisocial or cause you to reject the rest of the world.

 But you need to breathe.

And you need to be.

- Albert Camus -

For introverts, being alone is not boring, it's a luxury.

 The peace.

 The tranquility.

 Reading.

 Music.

 Long walks.

Quietly reflecting on things that matter.

 Things that grow you.

Heal you.

Make you feel like you again.

For you it may be boring, but for them it's soul food.

Empty your mind of unexamined beliefs, passed down through generations, inherited without question.

They do not belong to you.

Empty your heart of accumulated grievances, held onto regrets and resentments, hardened into a story of ‘poor me’.

This is not who you are.

You must have a place to which you can go in your heart,

your mind, or your house, almost every day,

where you do not owe anyone

and where no one owes you -

a place that simply allows for the blossoming

 of something new and promising.

We are all fundamentally good. All of us.

The problem comes, of course, when I mistakenly view my potential happiness as finite, and your happiness as an insult or a threat to mine. When I see life through the lens of 'poverty mentality,' selfishness, aggression, attachment or preconceptions...this vivid sweet magically ordinary world fades and solidifies and...well then we take things far too seriously.

So: relax. Make fun of yourself at least once a day. Poke and massage your own fixed notions of 'what I want.'

Enjoy this life without seeking to drown it in external gold.

If you don't exactly know
 what is happening
 you are probably

'Does a wolf know how beautiful she is when she leaps?

Does a feline know what beautiful shapes she makes when she sits?

Is a bird awed by the sound it hears when it snaps open its wings?

Learning from them, we just act in our own true way and do not draw back from or hide our natural beauty.

Like the creatures, we just are, and it is right.

Destiny is a feeling you have that you know something about yourself nobody else does. The picture you have in your own mind of what you're about, will come true. It's a kind of a thing you have to keep to your own self, because it's a fragile feeling, and you put it out there, then someone will kill it. It's best to keep that all inside.

When you feel in your gut what you are and then dynamically pursue it - don't back down and don't give up - then you're going to mystify a lot of folks.

Introverts can do nothing for hours.

 Don't ask "are you free".

 No, they aren't.

They're doing nothing.

Thinking nothing.

 Feeling nothing.

They're just there.

 Existing.

 Staring at walls and all.

That's how they refuel.

Chill.

 Feel whole again.

But you won't get it.

 Who among us,

looking back down the path of no return,

can say they followed it in the right way?

Life always has its ups and downs.

Why do you complain?

There are always good times and bad.

Yet, what differentiates one from the other is not what they actually are, but rather what they are perceived to be.

Some see obstacles, others see opportunities.

- Rabbi Ariel B. Tzadok -

Sometimes introverts lose arguments on purpose.

They're too kind.

Softhearted.

They know how you think.

How you reason.

Your whole psychology.

They can take you down in a minute.

But they care for their peace more than their ego.

So, "you're right".

Go live your life.
