“Nothing must be postponed. Take time by the forelock. Now or never! You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.

Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this, or like the like of this.”

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.

We all died last night, as we do every night.
Waking is always a resurrection after what might have been death.
What would dawn have been like, had you awakened?
It would have sung through your bones.
All I can do this morning is let it sing through mine.”

Accept everything about yourself - I mean everything.

You are you
and that is the beginning and the end -
no apologies, no regrets.

We all know the story. Virginal girl, pure and sweet, trapped in the body of a swan. She desires freedom but only true love can break the spell. Her wish is nearly granted in the form of a prince, but before he can declare his love her lustful twin, the black swan, tricks and seduces him. Devastated the white swan leaps of a cliff killing herself and, in death, finds freedom.

I just want to be perfect.

The only person standing in your way is you. It's time to let her go. Lose yourself.

Perfection is not just about control. It's also about letting go. Surprise yourself so you can surprise the audience. Transcendence! Very few have it in them.

- Black Swan - Aranofsky - Music Clint Mansell -

Why Worry

Baby I see this world has made you sad
Some people can be bad
The things they do, the things they say
But baby I'll wipe away those bitter tears
I'll chase away those restless fears
That turn your blue skies into grey

Why worry, there should be laughter after the pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now

Baby when I get down I turn to you
And you make sense of what I do
I know it isn't hard to say
But baby just when this world seems mean and cold
Our love comes shining red and gold
And all the rest is by the way

Why worry, there should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now

Je kunt de mens niets leren;

- Etty Hillesum - 16 april 1942 -
Luisteren is meer dan horen.
Zien is meer dan kijken.
Leven is meer dan overleven.

- Ancora Imparo -
There would be no chance at all of getting to know death if it happened only once. But fortunately, life is nothing but a continuing dance of birth and death, a dance of change.

Every time I hear the rush of a mountain stream, or the waves crashing on the shore, or my own heartbeat, I hear the sound of impermanence.

These changes, these small deaths, are our living links with death. They are death’s pulses, death’s heartbeat, prompting us to let go of all the things we cling to.
