R.I.P. lieve Marius
De dichter schreef zichzelf een klein leven
maar nu is hij gestorven. ‘Alles is opgelost nu.’

When did we see each other face-to-face?
Not until you saw into my cracks and I saw into yours.
Before that, we were just looking at ideas of each other, like looking at your window shade but never seeing inside.
But once the vessel cracks, the light can get in. The light can get out.

I cannot help you understand.
Each person must figure out things for themselves.
Remember that.
Teachers who offer you the ultimate answers do not possess the ultimate answers, for if they did, they would know that the ultimate answers cannot be given, they can only be received.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same, 10
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back. 15
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

"Mitch, you asked about caring for people I don't even know. But can I tell you the thing I'm learning most with this disease
"What's that?"
"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in."
His voice dropped to a whisper. "Let it come in. We think we don't deserve love, we think if we let it in we'll become too soft. But a wise man named Levine said it right. He said, 'Love is the only rational act.'"
He repeated it carefully, pausing for effect.
"'Love is the only rational act.'"

There are some good things to be said about walking.
Walking takes longer, for example, than any other known form of locomotion except crawling.
Thus it stretches time and prolongs life.
Life is already too short to waste on speed.
I have a friend who's always in a hurry; he never gets anywhere.
Walking makes the world much bigger and thus more interesting.
You have time to observe the details.
The utopian technologists foresee a future for us in which distance is annihilated and anyone can transport himself anywhere, instantly.
Big deal !
To be everywhere at once is to be nowhere forever, if you ask me.
