Partir, c'est mourir un peu;
c'est mourir à ce qu'on aime.

On laisse un peu de soi-même
en toute heure et dans tout lieu.

Bron: Rondel de I'adieu (1891)

"In het ongeluk
vinden wij meestal de rust terug,
waarvan wij door de vrees voor het ongeluk
beroofd werden."

En altijd is het zo geweest dat de Liefde
haar eigen diepte niet kent
dan op het uur der scheiding.

Where are we now ?

An intellectual?
Yes. And never deny it.

An intellectual is someone whose mind watches itself.
I like this, because I am happy to be both halves, the watcher and the watched.

’Can they be brought together?’
This is a practical question.
We must get down to it.

’I despise intelligence’ really means: ‘I cannot bear my doubts.’

The Race Movie

The Race Movie:

We all have "Races" we run and sometimes stumble along the way. Watch this moving story of a boy and his will to keep running his race even after he falls. Watch it and watch it again everytime you need that reminder to get up and finish your race.

To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best,
night and day,
to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle
which any human being can fight;
and never stop fighting.

WHEN I GO ALONE AT NIGHT
by: Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941)
HEN I go alone at night to my love-tryst, birds do not sing, the wind does not stir, the houses on both sides of the street stand silent.
It is my own anklets that grow loud at every step and I am ashamed.

When I sit on my balcony and listen for his footsteps, leaves do not rustle on the trees, and the water is still in the river like the sword on the knees of a sentry fallen asleep.
It is my own heart that beats wildly -- I do not know how to quiet it.

When my love comes and sits by my side, when my body trembles and my eyelids droop, the night darkens, the wind blows out the lamp, and the clouds draw veils over the stars.
It is the jewel at my own breast that shines and gives light. I do not know how to hide it.

David Byrne-Don't Fence Me In

What if you slept
And what if
In your sleep
You dreamed
And what if
In your dream
You went to heaven
And there plucked a strange and beautiful flower
And what if
When you awoke
You had that flower in you hand
Ah, what then?

- Samuel Taylor Coleridge -

Wayne Dyer "I Can Do It"

Joan Armatrading - I'm Lucky

I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky,
I can walk under ladders
Yes I’m so lucky that I’m as lucky as me

Struck it rich, Dirty rich, No work and get richer
And the world loves a winner
Yes I’m so happy that you’re happy with me

(You are happy too, Ain’t you baby)

Numero uno, Living for right now
And it’s L.I.V.I.N.G. when I’m here with you

I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky,
Don’t need a bracelet, No salt for my shoulder
I don’t own a rabbit, No clover, no heather, no cross
No wonder I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky
I can walk under ladders

I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky,
I can walk under ladders

I don’t own a bracelet, No clover, no heather, no cross
No wonder I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky
I can walk under ladders
I can walk under ladders
I’m lucky, I’m lucky, I’m lucky
