Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn?
Or the
quiet and calm just as a storm ends?
Or perhaps you know the silence
when you haven’t the answer to a question you’ve been asked, or the hush
of a country road at night, or the expectant pause of a room full of
people when someone is just about to speak, or, most beautiful of all,
the moment after the door closes and you’re alone in the whole house?
Each one is different, you know, and all very beautiful if you listen
carefully.
- Norton Juster -
Sometimes I go for days without speaking to a soul.
I think, “I should make that call”, but I put it off.
Because there’s something pleasurable about not talking.
But then I love talking, so it’s not that.
But sometimes it can be nice.
It’s not like I sit here philosophizing, because I’ve no talent for that.
It’s just this thing about silence that’s so wonderful.

-Repairing Broken Wings-
The
capacity to be happy is very precious.
Someone who is able to be happy even when confronted with difficulties, has the capacity to offer light and a sense of joy to herself and to those around her.
When we are near someone like this, we feel happy, also.
Even when she enters hell, she will lighten up hell with the sound of her laughter.
- Thich Nhat Hanh -

Mother your emotions, be there for them, listen to what they have to
tell you, meet them with love and without judgment.
Mother yourself,
tell to that little child, inside yourself, all the loving things maybe
your parents never got to tell you.
If you would’ve had the perfect
mother or the perfect dad, what would they have said to you to make you
feel better.
You can give that love to yourself now.
