THE BODY TEACHER.

In many ways my experience of illness all those years ago was my greatest teacher.

It did something to me viscerally that could only happen through the body.

It brought me face to face with my impermanence.

Not as a philosophy but as a reality.

It also forced me to look deeply into what emotional baggage I was carrying that was crushing me.

And ultimately it challenged me to heal myself and to find a deeper meaning to life.

Because I chose to walk a natural healing path it meant there was no quick fix, nothing certain and nothing suppressed.

Everything had to come out.

That’s the nature of detoxification.

I had to face the doubt that I would ever recover, and let it go.

I had to meet regret, and release it.

I had to meet deep anger, and give it its freedom.

And of course I had to meet the great fear and make friends with it.

It was a warrior’s undertaking, although I never called it that or thought of it that way.

It utterly humbled me and ultimately it healed something in me.

It brought me into a harmony of body, emotion mind and spirit.

And to this day and each day as I grow somewhat older, it keeps reminding me, it keeps teaching me and it definitely keeps me humble in the face of my own (and others) mortality.

Love your body, it is your temple for a while, until your temple becomes the eternal cathedral.

There is only one solution

to your pain and your problems

to be absolutely present and absolutely open

in the midst of the human condition.

Not just sometimes,

when you’re on the cushion meditating,

 but always, always, always.

The only salvation is here and now.

We make sacred

that which we give our full attention to.

 It's why

in a world of consumerism, cynicism, terrorism, & tragedies,

I focus

on beauty, on wonder, on the gentle grace that is threaded

throughout our lives that we too often fail to notice.

LIVING WITHOUT

- How much is enough ?

Learn how to be corrected

without being offended and defensive.

Be teachable.

Own your mistakes.

Listen to criticism

with an open mind.

See corrections as stepping stones.

Know that you know nothing

and be so in control of your ego

instead of it being in control of you.

Take criticism as food for the mind.

@TGinormous

Your only need-

-is to Silence the neediness of your own mind.

 All apparent problems…are internal.

Being disturbed by someone or something external

- requires your permission.

 Stop blaming.

Be AWARE of mind’s inner conflict.

Prioritize relaxing into this Silent Awareness…

Art would be useless

if the world were perfect,

as man wouldn't look for harmony

but would simply live in it.

Art is born

Don't trap yourself with the desire of wanting

The paradox of getting what you want

is that if we base our happiness on the expextation of great things

then achieving it removes the happiness

and you're left empty and full of desire

That's what desire truly is

it's a trap

Humans are walking paradoxes

we want what we can't have

when if we finally get what we're craving

it's never enough

Desire is suffering

it is a contract that you that you make with yourself

that you will be unhappy until you get what you want

But some people might say that desire keeps you going

but isn't it quite sad that you only consider yourself alive

until you get what you want

You allow your unlimited desire

to cloud your peace.
